SOLVE Project - SRI LANKA

70% of the world's poor are women. 1 in 3 have been beaten, coerced into sex or otherwise abused (WHO). A new report states that women are now MORE vulnerable than they were before due to the global financial crisis and food prices. It is estimated that on average about 60% of women in Sri Lanka are subjected to different types of harassment at home, at work, and in the neighbourhood. Often women have no choice but to endure the abuse due to the fact she is economically dependant on the abuser.

The cause for this dependency can be traced in most cases, to lack of marketable skills.

Sisters Of Love Via Enterprise seeks to bring Opportunity, Dignity and Hope to vulnerable women in Sri Lanka by giving them the Opportunity to attend a training program which will enable them to set up a micro business. They will graduate with Dignity enabling them to provide for their families giving Hope.

Just $25 per month sponsorship will give one sister in Sri Lanka the opportunity to attend our SOLVE program.
