Partner with us in Tonga to bring help and hope.
World Hope International is responding to the disastrous volcanic eruption and tsunami in Tonga which has caused terrible damage and loss.
The small island nation of Tonga, with around 105,000 residents, has been cut off from the rest of the world after an underwater volcano erupted Sunday night 16th January . The eruption was so loud it could be heard as far away as the south island of New Zealand.
While there is limited communication with this small nation, we have heard reports that the water systems have been disrupted. We know that clean water is vital not only for safe drinking purposes but to also prevent a secondary health disaster resulting from a lack of sanitation and hygiene.
World Hope International believes that those with a background of working in a country alongside local communities are best suited to support relief efforts quickly and efficiently. As such we are working with the South Pacific Regional Conference of the Wesleyan Methodist Church to finalise arrangements within Tonga as well as to raise much needed funds which will help communities and families with clean water and shelter.
What we are doing:
- Finalising arrangements with in-country partners
- Raising funds which will provide essential clean water & shelter
AN ORGANISATION YOU CAN TRUST.
Please note that in the unlikely event a specific appeal becomes overfunded, surplus funds will be redirected towards a similar relief or community development project.
